It ordinarily remains loyal to a considerate master.and therefore it has been called man's best friend.They are highly social animals.They can account for their trainability, playfulness, and ability to fit into human households and social situations.These attributes gives dog a unique position despite being one of the most effective, voracious, and potentially dangerous species.
A dog fits easily into family life.It thrives on praise and affection.When a master tells a dog that it is good, the animal happily wags its tail.But when a master scolds a dog, it sulks away with a sheepish look and with its tail tucked between its legs.Dogs are trained to lead the blind and assist the handicapped.They have been known to rescue humans.

Labrador

There are two types of Labradors, the English Labrador and the American Labrador. The English bred lab comes from English bred stock and are heavier, thicker and blockier. The American bred Lab comes from American bred stock and is tall and lanky. The Labrador Retriever is a solid, muscular dog, slightly longer than tall, with a short, hard, easy-care, water-resistant double coat that does not have any waves and comes in solid black, yellow, or chocolate.
Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained.Some of their talents include: hunting, tracking, retrieving, watchdogging, police work, narcotics detection, guide for the blind, service dog for the disabled, search and rescue, sledding, carting, agility, and competitive obedience.
CARE: Labs are big eaters and need regular exercise and moderate rations to avoid a tendency to become overweight.Prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, PRA and eye disorders.

Bulldog

The breed is descended from the ancient Asiatic mastiff, but its development took place completely in Great Britain.
The Bulldog is small in stature, but wide and compact, with a thick, massive head. Its head should be broad (the broader the more prized) with cheeks that extend to the sides of the eyes. The skin on the skull and forehead should fall in dense folds.Its muzzle is short and pug, its nose, broad and black with large nostrils. Its stocky legs set squarely at each corner of its compact, muscular body.
It is described as a very affectionate and dependable animal, gentle with children, but known for its courage and its excellent guarding abilities. Bullheaded and determined, this breed can be very persistent. They do not give up easily. Bulldogs are very much a peoples dog seeking out human attention and loving every bit it can get!! A lot of human attention is required for the breed's happiness.
CARE:It has breathing problem and also poor eyesight.they are very cold sensitive.They need to be taken on daily walks.

Pomeranian

Developed in the Prussian region of Pomerania, the Pomeranian was originally descended from the ancient Spitz breeds of the far north which were brought to Europe and employed to herd sheep.
The Pomeranian is a tiny, fluffy dog with wedge-shaped head and pointed erect ears. The nose is either dark or the color of its coat.The teeth should meet in a scissors bite.
It is an excellent watchdog with a resounding bark. Poms have a tendency to be reserved and bark at strangers excessively. They are alert, curious and busy: one of the most independent of the Toy breeds.
CARE: Since Pomeranians are prone to early tooth loss, feeding dry food is recommended to keep the teeth and gums in good condition.The Pomeranian's very long, double coat should be brushed frequently.Clean the eyes and ears daily and take the dog for regular dental checkups.

Bernese Mountain Dog

Although the exact origins of the Bernese Mountain Dog are unclear, this breed probably began as a farm dog in the Swiss mountains.
The Bernese Mountain Dog is a sturdy, heavy dog, with a beautiful weather-resistant tri-color double coat of black with symmetrical markings of rust and white. The dog should have a white blaze on the chest, white on the head and toes, and rust markings over each eye, on the cheeks, sides of the chest, under the tail and on each leg.
These gentle, cheerful dogs love children. They are very intelligent, easy to train and are natural watchdogs, but not overly aggressive. A friend for life. The Bernese needs to be with people and not relegated to the backyard or kennel run.

HOUSEBREAKING....

Housebreaking simply means teaching your dog not to relieve himself inside the house. Anyone who has ever tried the process knows that it isn't easy to house break. Puppy logic is simple, "I have to go. I'll go here."
Routine is absolutely key to housebreaking. At first you may have to take your puppy out every hour. Get in the habit of taking your dog out first thing in the morning and just before bed time. Be patient with accidents.
Here are a few steps that you could take.

Choose the spot outside where you would like your puppy to go to the toilet (eliminate).
Keep your puppy in his/her crate, pen area or even tethered to a chair where you are working. Your puppy cannot have free run of the house at this early stage Every 60 minutes take your puppy straight to the designated toilet area outside.
When you reach the toilet area repeat a cue word you would like to attach to the act of your dog eliminating example "hurry up" but just pick out a cue word or short phrase and stick with it. In your dogs mind you are building an association between the cue "hurry up!" and him emptying out.
If your pup does eliminate continue to repeat your cue word and the instant your dog finishes doing his business enthusiastically praise and reward him with a small tasty treat. Make it clear that you are very happy with him .Immediately after a successful toilet trip outside you can allow your puppy some free play time in the house. Just spend some time enjoying the company of your puppy, then place him back in his crate or pen area. If after 3-4 minutes of circling around your puppy shows no signs of needing to eliminate take him back inside and try again in about twenty minutes.
"What about overnight?" . Well, firstly do not feed your puppy close to bedtime and take away his water before you go to bed (don't forget to put it back first thing in the morning). You'll need to set your alarm clock to go off once and possibly twice throughout the night. This is an important step, just take your puppy out to the toilet area as usual and then hop back into bed. When your puppy is young it is physically impossible for him to hold on all night, but before long you will both be sleeping peacefully right through the night.

why do dogs chew ?

Through loneliness or boredom.

Home sick, often occurs if you work long hours away from home.

Through fear or a phobia.
Seeking attention.
Through anticipation, some dogs chew just before their owner is due to arrive home.

How To prevent dogs from chewing?

1. Provide your dog with a few tasty dog chews. Don't overload your dog with dozens of chew toys, just a couple of good one's.
2. If your dog has a particular liking for a certain object like a furniture leg you can try this method. Coat the object with a foul tasting substance (non toxic) such as bitter apple, or cayenne pepper This method can be effective but because it doesn't actually teach your dog to stop chewing, it may mean that your dog just chews on a different object.
3. If you catch your dog in the act of chewing, give a firm "No!" and replace the inappropriate chewing object with a tasty chew toy. Give your dog praise when he starts chewing the toy. Never ever reprimand your dog if you don't actually catch him in the act of chewing. If you don't issue your correction within about two seconds of his chewing behavior, he won't have a clue what you are disciplining him for.
